About
I’m Sirkie Rothman, M.Ed., a mother of seven, Judaic studies educator, and Certified Nurtured Heart Approach® Parent Coach and Trainer.
I have 9 years of formal classroom experience teaching Judaic and secular studies, along with broader experience leading extracurricular education. I have worked with students from fifth grade through post-high school, as well as giving Shiurim to married women on various Hashkafa topics.
My work with parents grew out of a very personal journey. I knew a great deal about chinuch and cared deeply about raising my children well, but I struggled to put what I knew was true into practice during difficult moments. I would fall back on reacting or trying to control the situation, even though I knew those responses were not creating real change. I wasn’t surprised that they weren’t working—but I felt defeated that I didn’t know what else to do. I became determined, even desperate, to find a way of parenting that I could genuinely live and that would make a meaningful difference in my home.
When I first learned the Nurtured Heart Approach®, some of its practices felt counterintuitive. But I was motivated to create change, so I committed to trying them consistently. As I became calmer and began to see meaningful shifts in my children and in the atmosphere of our home, I wanted to understand more.
Learning the Torah foundations behind this work transformed a practical approach into a much deeper conviction. R’ Shlomo Hoffman’s teaching of Kamayim hapanim lapanim helped me understand how profoundly a parent’s inner energy affects the relationship. The writings of R’ Samson Raphael Hirsch and R’ Shlomo Wolbe gave me a rich and practical framework for understanding the purpose of chinuch, recognizing each child’s individual path, and guiding children without losing sight of their essential greatness.
I have also had the privilege of discussing and examining my developing approach with R’ Eliyahu Meir Klugman and R’ Noach Orlowek. Each challenged me to clarify my thinking and ultimately encouraged me to continue guiding parents in this work.
Today, I help frum mothers move out of cycles of frustration, reactivity, and self-doubt and become calmer, more confident leaders in their homes. More than 85 mothers have learned through my parenting programs, where I bring together Torah hashkafah, the structure of the Nurtured Heart Approach®, and practical tools for everyday family life.
Mothers often tell me that they feel understood rather than judged, and that I make deep Torah ideas clear, practical, and relevant to the parenting situations they face each day.
